Session title: Planning for the future: A closer look at Db2’s plans for VNext and what you should do now
Session abstract: It should no longer surprise anyone that Db2 for z/OS is planning a new version of IBM’s flagship relational database.
Many will already be aware that this new version will represent a watershed moment for Db2. Where we build upon the incredible technological innovation of the past four decades but are no longer constrained by the need to support obsolete features.
This session will go into more detail to explain what IBM is planning and why, what to expect going forward, and why you should take action now to position your business to take advantage of the future.
Speaker bio: Haakon Roberts is an IBM Distinguished Engineer based at the Silicon Valley Laboratory in San Jose, California. He is the chief architect for Db2 for z/OS and Tools and CTO of IBM z Data & AI. He holds several patents and is a leading expert in database management, data integrity, availability, resiliency, and problem resolution. He is a regular speaker on these and other topics.
