Session title: Strategies for Making Db2 Data Accessible with APIs
Session abstract: This session will explore multiple strategies for enabling API access to your Db2 data. We will examine both direct API connections to Db2 and alternative mechanisms for accessing Db2 data through z/OS-enabled APIs.

Speaker bio: Chris is a Distinguished Engineer for Database Technology and a lead architect for the Data Management portfolio within the Mainframe Division of Broadcom Software Group. He oversees strategy and architecture decisions for the Broadcom database products IDMS and Datacom, as well as for the DB2 Tools portfolio. With 35+ years of mainframe database experience, Chris has a Deep understanding of how hardware and software can work together to solve real-world problems. He regularly engages with customers on new development projects, prioritizing requirements and advising them on how to best use technology to achieve their business goals.
Prior to joining Broadcom, Chris worked at IBM for more than three decades and was a Distinguished Engineer for the Db2 for z/OS development team. He led initiatives that enable customers to more easily utilize data from more than one country in their applications, scale workloads horizontally as well as vertically on the mainframe, and control when new capabilities are enabled at the system level, as well as on an application-by-application basis.
