Session title: The AI Query Optimizer Features in Db2 Version 12.1
Session abstract: This session will look at the motivation and strategy behind the next generation AI Query Optimizer in Db2 12.1. It will highlight functionality, usage and advantages over the traditional query optimizer.
We will also briefly touch on some of the features of the AI Query Optimizer that are currently being researched for post V12.1
Speaker bio: Calisto Zuzarte has been part of the Db2 development organization throughout the life of Db2. He has mainly been involved in the Query compiler and specializes in query optimization and performance. His recent interests include research projects related to infusing AI in Db2 and the development of an optimizer that is capable of improving performance for other databases like Presto C++.
