Speaker biography: Walter Alvey is a Senior Software Engineer at the IBM Silicon Valley Laboratory with over 20 years of experience as a developer in Db2. He currently works in Db2 with BLU Acceleration, focusing on storage and compression. Db2 with BLU Acceleration is the common database engine technology used inDb2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows, Db2 Warehouse, Db2 on Cloud, IBM Integrated Analytics System (IIAS), and Db2 Big SQL. Walter has developed features for insert, update, and delete, data compression, reorg, ingest, query processing, and federation.
