Session title: UTS, Past, Present & Future
Session abstract: The UTS has been with us since DB2 V9 and now in Db2 12 it got an upgrade with the UTS PBR RPN type.
In this presentation I wish to show you the history of these beasts, how to use which variant, and when, for the best performance and utility balance. I will also briefly delve into current changes and its probable future development.
Speaker biography: Roy Boxwell has more than 34 years of experience in MVS, OS/390, and z/OS environments – 31 of those in Db2. He specializes in installation, migration, and performance monitoring and tuning. Roy leads the SEG development team responsible for the real time database maintenance solutions. He is an IBM Champion, well known speaker, active participant and contributor on the IDUG Db2 Listserv and sends out a monthly Db2 z/OS Newsletter.
