Session title: Db2 on Multi-cloud environments, including new fully managed AWS options
Session abstract: In this talk, we will discuss the new offerings for Db2 on AWS and upcoming Azure offerings. It will include Db2 on Cloud’s AWS Technical Preview as well as Db2 Warehouse on Cloud for AWS. Basic architectures and roadmaps will be covered. In addition, DIY options for AWS as well as Kubernetes options will briefly be discussed, as well as advantages and tradeoffs between the different options.
Speaker biography: Simon Lightstoneis the senior offering manager for IBM Db2 on Cloud. He is a former Db2 developer and a blogger published on Tech Crunch and LifeHack.org. Previously to IBM, Simon ran a consulting firm providing cloud solutions for AWS and Azure. He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Toronto and an MA in Business & Technology
